Seasoning Tips

I'm often asked how I make my boring diet taste good. Below are some suggestions:

  • Use spices to add flair to your meat and carb dishes:
    • Italian seasoning
    • Cayenne pepper
    • Garlic powder
    • Oregano
    • Rosemary
    • Black pepper
  • If you like salty foods, try a salt substitute (made from potassium chloride; 1/6 tsp contains 530 mg (or 15% DV) of potassium):
  • Use sugar substitutes in oatmeal, tea, etc.:
    • Splenda (tastes just like real sugar with NO chemical aftertaste)
  • Spice up sweet dishes:
    • Cinnamon
    • Nutmeg (I add Splenda, cinnamon, and nutmeg to my oatmeal in the mornings)
